After two recent sell-out performances at Wilton’s, London’s famous Players’ Theatre is proud to be returning to this magical venue in May with yet another outstanding mélange of traditional Music Hall, circa 1890. An august array of talented artistes from BBC’s long-running series The Good Old Days will take you on a nostalgic and richly entertaining trip down memory lane to the truly golden era of song, dance, magic and laughter.

Helming this splendid evening, Wilton’s favourite Mr Tom Carradine will be ‘tinkling the ivories’, and your elegantly-waistcoated, sharp-witted Chairman Mr Richard Gauntlett - complete with gavel - will ensure that this gala performance will delight and entertain lovers of participatory entertainment, the songs you love to sing, and the jokes you love to hear. Unmissable!

CAREFREE, CHEERFUL & UNIQUELY BRITISH!

Produced and directed by Jan Hunt, a stalwart of The Players’, Co-Producer of The Good Old Days and ex-presenter of the BBC's long-running children’s series Crackerjack. Cast to include Philip Day, Ben Stock, Nicola Keen, Hilary O’Neil, Jan Hunt, The Playerettes, and Richard Gauntlett.

‘The most original entertainment in London’ Time Out

'The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing have the megawattage, no doubt, but the older generation has the guile! Jan Hunt’s brisk production, complete with traditional audience singalongs, mixes sentimental ballads with earthy humour' The Times

'Beautiful singing, old school magic, big nineteenth century dresses, singalongs and satirical comedy make it an evening to remember' Hackney Gazette

The Players Theatre Club was founded in 1929 but in 1936 it adopted the persona of Victorian Music Hall under Peter Ridgeway and Leonard Sachs. The Players soon became a theatrical institution and recognised as a showcase for future stars such as Hattie Jacques, Sir Peter Ustinov, Clive Dunn, Ian Carmichael, and Maggie Smith. The Players now run workshops and present The New Faces Music Hall specials once again providing a showcase for the future stars of tomorrow.
